So what is a Lactic Acid peel?
Lactic acid peels are alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). Derived from milk, they are very mild chemical peels with little to no downtime. Because lactic acid is a natural human metabolite, there is less chance of an allergic reaction with this type of peel.

When I recieved Dr. Song 50% Lactic Acid Face Peel, I was on a face product overload. Sometimes companies delay shipping items for review and then you are bombarded with product all at once. Because of this I actually had to have a friend use and review this, and here are her thoughts on it after 4 weekly applications:

"When I first applied this peel it immediately started to sting a bit. I was nervous at first since this is a pharmaceutical grade pee and they can easily cause chemical burns. But I followed the directions  washed off after 1 minute. Surprisingly my skin was already brighter. In fact it wasn't even red. I did have to apply moisturizer because my skin felt super dry but other than that I did not have any side effects. After just 4 applications my dark spots and chickenpox scares have nearly faded completely. I am in total shock to be honest. I had no idea this would make that big of a difference."

Ok so the peel was not shipped with directions and I never recieved them via email as stated on their amazon page. I did search the web and actually found Dr. Song's web site that has all the directions you need. Directions are as follows according to their web page:

Step 1: Cleanse the face, neck, and gently pat dry. Step 2: Apply a small amount with a brush or cotton ball to the area and leave on as needed. Rinse product with water and pat dry after. Leave on for 1 minute for your first peel and slowly increase the time of each peel afterwards by 1-2 minutes as needed. General recommended time is 4 weeks between each peel. Please keep in mind, these are general guidelines, and everyones skin is different. Skin patch tests are the most accurate method and minimize risk. Precautions Keep the peel at least a quarter of an inch away from the eyes and mucus membranes. If skin irritation occurs remove the product by neutralizing with cool water immediately and consult a physician. Do not apply the peel more than once in a 7 day period Do not expose your face to the sun for 24 hours before or after the application of the peel. Do not apply the peel to the skin that has been waxed or shaved within 24 hours When using the peel a stinging sensation may occur, this is normal.

Lavo Ultra Detoxifying Mud Mask Review

  It's amazing the things us woman will do in the name of beauty. Like slathering mud all over our face. I've never really been into mud, except in during my child hood when my best friend just happened to be the boy next door, who was super cute. It's amazing the things we are willing to do to make a good impression even at such a young age, like hunting for worms in the mud after a good old fashioned Portland rain storm, yuk! So why as adult woman do we slather mud on our face? Several reasons actually. A mud mask is highly nourishing to your skin thanks to its naturally high mineral content. Mud masks are also known to contain natural anti-inflammatory and anti-aging ingredients. Not to mention once the mud dries it some how magically pulls all the excess dirt, oils and dead skin cells out of the skin leaving your skin looking and feeling more radiant. Plus it just feels so luxurious and relaxing in my opinion.

After applying, I usually soak in the tub for about 20 minutes to really relax and make sure the mask stays put and does what it should. This particular mask was designed for normal to oily skin types and to treat Acne, Blackheads, Pimples, Eczema , and Psoriasis.

 

When on the skin the Lavo Detoxifying Mud Mask has a bluish green tint to it. When you wash this off after 20-25 minutes of use, this tint is still there, in my pores. I discovered that this mask, although it feels great, doesn't rinse well. You really have to scrub, which we all know is bad for your face. Even after using my sonic scrubber, when I use my toner after, there is still traces of the mask coming off with the cotton ball. This for me was disappointing. The whole purpose of a mud mask is to leave your skin cleaner, not filthier. However, once I did finally get all the mud off, my sin was super silky soft. So that is a plus. Over all, This mask is not one I will be purchasing. For me its not worth the extra scrubbing on my acne prone skin to use. Exfolimate Review and Giveaway

I have to say when I decided to review this product I had a completely different picture in mind as to what this was. I was thinking that this was either a exfoliating brush or face scrubber of some sort. NOT EVEN CLOSE. In fact when I first received the package I was like "what in the world!"

Seriously, this looks like some kind of dangerous weapon not meant for the face, haha. The Exfolimate has a triangular shaped plastic handle with a surgical grade stainless steal edge. The edge however is not sharp.

This neat yet weird and scary looking thing is designed for daily use to exfoliate the face and body. It works lifting and removing the dead skin cells and leaves your skin smoother, brighter and younger looking with out the use of harsh chemicals. this thing works! oh my goodness I've never been so grossed out after using something as I was with this. You'd be amazed at how much nastiness gets left behind even if you do exfoliate on a regular basis as I do.

To use make sure skin is wet and supple. holding at a 90 degree angle apply a bit of pressure and glide across skin in an upward direction. I typically use body wash or facial cleanser depending on what part I am working on to help make this a smoother process. After each swipe you will see the nasty residue and skin that is removed, rinse and repeat. NOTE: You will be slightly disgusted as you do this, but don't worry after the first use it's not near as bad!

EnvyDerma Enhancement and Conditioning Mascara Review

So I have used a looooong line of mascara in my time. So many claim to lengthen, plump, enhance growth, won't clump and the ever elusive "natural" look. I never wore mascara regualarly until I was about 26 and selling Mary Kay. I had sold Mary Kay products for years already but never got into the whole mascara a.k.a. spider legs look until one day out of the blue I though maybe if I actually used the mascara I would sell more of it. It's much easier to sell it if you actually have first hand experience with it. 

 Since then, I have been a mascara user almost daily, Mainly because after using the Mary Kay mascara for about a year, my lashes got lighter, thinner and shorter. I know right, that totally shouldn't be happening. But it did. Ever since then I have used so many different mascaras all with claims of one thing or another with the main claim of "long beautiful natural looking lashes" that were nothing but a let down. 

That's why when I was given the opportunity to use and review EnvyDerma mascara, I jumped right in expecting the exact same results. But let me tell you, I have been pleasantly suprised at the results and my view of mascara has forever changed since using this! It actually has helped my natural lashes start to restore themselves into the beautiful lashes I once had. Now I've only used this a few weeks, but I can already see a change. So would I recommend this mascara, heck yes! The above pictures speaks volumes about how well this product actually works. This is far supirior to any other mascara I've tried, and I've tried several big name, expensive brands.

   This has got to be the most simple curling iron I've ever used.    To use just plug into an outlet, choose your heat setting and wait about 1-2 minutes for it to heat up (when the indicator light turns blue). While your iron is heating up, section of hair. Then when your ready, hold your InstaWave vertically, place section of hair in in the barrel, and press the curling action button. Hold hair in place for 5-30 seconds, and then pull straight down.    I really enjoy using this curler on my daughters hair. It makes getting ready for school on days they want to be extra girlie, quick and easy. The only draw back I have found is that if your hair is shorter than shoulder length as mine is, then this isn't the iron for you. Their are no clamps to hold the hair in place and the iron is currently only available in the 1" barrel. But for the rest of you with shoulder length or longer enjoy the ease the Kiss InstaWave curler offers.
